Structure Lead Engineer

Job Summary

The Structure Lead Engineer will oversee structural engineering design review, coordination, technical governance, and construction support for a major airport and infrastructure project. This role ensures structural integrity, constructability, and compliance of various airport-related structures throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Lead review and coordination of structural engineering designs for airport buildings and infrastructure.
• Provide technical guidance to structural engineers and multidisciplinary teams during the project.
• Ensure designs comply with project objectives, engineering standards, and client requirements.
• Review structural calculations, design reports, finite element analysis, shop drawings, and specifications.
• Coordinate structural interfaces with multiple disciplines including Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, and others.
• Support construction activities by reviewing contractor submissions and conducting site inspections.
• Lead value engineering and constructability reviews to optimize structural solutions.
• Manage risk assessments, design changes, and ensure safety and quality compliance throughout the project.

Must haves

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering specialized in Structural Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in structural engineering design, review, and construction supervision on major infrastructure projects.
• Experience with airport terminals, airfield facilities, or large infrastructure developments.
• Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete, structural steel, composite structures, foundations, and retaining structures.
• Familiarity with international structural design standards such as ACI, AISC, Eurocodes, BS, and IBC.
• Experience with structural analysis and design software like ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, STAAD.Pro, or RAM Structural System.

Nice to haves

• Professional Engineer (PE), Chartered Engineer (CEng), MIStructE, or equivalent registration.
• Experience with international airport expansion or greenfield airport projects.
• Knowledge of ICAO, FAA, IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC, and aviation-related engineering standards.
• Experience with FIDIC contracts, seismic design, blast-resistant design, and resilience planning.
