Co-Founder & Real Estate & Asset Lead

Job Summary

The Co-Founder & Real Estate & Asset Lead will oversee the asset management side of Makan, focusing on sourcing, valuing, and managing residential assets while building operational infrastructure and relationships with developers and landlords.

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and onboard residential or income-generating properties.
• Underwrite individual units with clear assessments of price, condition, and resale potential.
• Develop and manage the operational systems for portfolio, vendor, maintenance, operating expenses, and vacancy management.
• Negotiate agreements for asset supply and distribution with developers and landlords.
• Collaborate on Makan’s go-to-market and capital strategies with the co-founder.
• Report progress regularly to the Sanabil Studio Investment Committee.
• Recruit and lead the founding team across commercial, operations, and product areas.
• Establish company culture and operational routines from the start.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience in real estate asset management, valuation, or investment at a REIT, real estate fund, or institutional asset manager.
• Experience managing or underwriting a portfolio of multiple residential or income-generating assets.
• Strong understanding of appraised value, market appreciation, loan-to-value ratios, and refinancing processes.
• Proven leadership in building or managing an asset management function or property portfolio.
• In-depth knowledge of Saudi real estate market dynamics, developer landscape, and buyer behavior in Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam.
• Effective communication skills with developers, landlords, appraisers, and internal teams.
• Currently based in or willing to relocate to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; Saudi Nationals preferred.
• Bonus: Relationships with 5–10 major developers or REGA-licensed brokerages; experience with REGA frameworks, Ejar contracts, or SPV-held real estate; prior venture studio or builder experience.
