Appian QA & Automation Engineer

Job Summary

The Appian QA & Automation Engineer will be responsible for ensuring quality in Appian applications at a major Saudi bank by developing test strategies and automation to support frequent releases without regressions in critical workflows. This onsite role in Riyadh requires strong experience with Appian or similar BPM/low-code platforms.

Responsibilities

• Develop test strategies covering functional, integration, regression, UAT, performance, and security testing.
• Create and maintain UI automation for Appian using Appian Selenium API, FitNesse, or Cucumber frameworks.
• Automate API and integration testing for Appian Web APIs and related services using tools like Karate, REST Assured, or Postman/Newman.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines with quality gates before deployments.
• Conduct performance and load testing with JMeter, Gatling, or Appian performance tools for high banking volumes.
• Verify role-based access, maker-checker controls, data masking, and audit logs.
• Manage test data and environments, ensuring compliance with PDPL through masked production-like data.
• Lead UAT with business users, track defects to resolution, and report quality metrics to leadership.

Must haves

• Over 10 years of experience, including more than 6 years in hands-on Appian development.
• Appian Certified Senior Developer certification is mandatory.
• Expertise in SAIL, interface design patterns, and Appian Portals/Sites.
• Strong skills in Appian Data Fabric including record types, sync, relationships, custom record fields, and record-level security.
• Proficiency in data modeling and SQL including views, indexes, and stored procedures.
• Good UX sense with experience collaborating with UX/UI designers.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication abilities.
• Preference for candidates with a notice period of one month or immediate availability.

Nice to haves

• Experience with Appian AI features such as AI Skills, document extraction, and AI Copilot.
• Knowledge of Appian Component Plug-ins using React or JavaScript.
• Familiarity with Figma design tool.
• Experience with customer-facing banking portals.
