Field Architect

Job Summary

The Field Architect at MinIO is a senior technical role that involves working directly with customers to design, validate, and guide architectures for AI, analytics, cloud-native applications, and large-scale data platforms. The role requires collaboration with internal teams and partners to ensure successful technical outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery with customers and partners to understand business goals and design comprehensive architectures.
• Design data platform solutions covering ingestion, CDC, batch and streaming pipelines, lakehouse storage, catalogs, query engines, orchestration, data quality, governance, and AI integration.
• Define and validate architectures for AI/ML training, inference, analytics, lakehouse environments, and high-performance data pipelines.
• Act as a subject matter expert on AIStor, object storage, S3-compatible architectures, distributed systems, replication, erasure coding, security, and performance tuning.
• Build trusted relationships with customer technical stakeholders and guide them in architecture decisions.
• Plan and execute customer PoCs, including scoping, deployment, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and driving to production plans.
• Provide technical leadership on Kubernetes, containers, automation, and deployment across cloud environments.
• Deliver technical presentations, workshops, and enablement sessions for customers, partners, and internal teams.

Requirements

• 10+ years in senior customer-facing technical roles such as Field Architect, Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, Systems Engineer, or Technical Consultant.
• Hands-on experience designing and troubleshooting end-to-end data platforms including ingestion, CDC, batch and streaming processing, lakehouse architecture, catalogs, query engines, orchestration, data quality, governance, and AI/analytics workloads.
• Proven experience leading customer PoCs from defining success criteria to final technical review and production planning.
• Strong knowledge of object storage and S3-compatible architectures including security, replication, data protection, performance, and scale-out design.
• Hands-on experience with Linux, networking, storage systems, containers, Kubernetes, and modern data center infrastructure.
• Familiarity with data stack technologies such as Kafka, Debezium, NiFi, Spark, Flink, Trino, Starburst, Iceberg, Delta Lake, or data catalogs.
• Experience designing or supporting AI, machine learning, analytics, lakehouse, or large-scale data pipeline environments.
• Experience with public and hybrid cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI, or private clouds.
• Strong skills in technical discovery, architecture design, demonstration building, performance analysis, troubleshooting, and clear communication of tradeoffs.
• Excellent verbal, written, whiteboarding, and presentation skills for technical and executive audiences.
