Integration / API Engineer (.NET) – (12 Months Contract)

Job Summary

This role involves designing, building, and operating secure APIs and enterprise integrations, including connections to government platforms, payment gateways, and public-service systems, while supporting AI project integration needs. It includes leading complex integrations from design to production and handover.

Responsibilities

• Create secure integration patterns with documented API contracts agreed upon with system owners.
• Lead technical changes for integration platforms related to government, payments, and public services.
• Develop and review .NET/C# APIs and integration components, handling compatibility, data mappings, and authentication.
• Troubleshoot complex issues such as payment retries, duplicate callbacks, reconciliation, timeouts, and external outages.
• Review work of mid-level engineers, coordinate with QA and DevOps teams, and define criteria for integration acceptance.
• Provide source code, configuration, API documentation, operational guidance, and knowledge transfer.

Must haves

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, information systems, software engineering, or equivalent.
• Extensive production experience designing APIs and enterprise integrations using C#/.NET.
• Strong understanding of API security, contracts/versioning, data mapping, and resilient integration behavior with ability to explain trade-offs.
• Proven experience leading complex integrations through design, testing, production, and handover.
• Ability to analyze failures using logs and transaction traces, review code, and communicate architecture to technical and business stakeholders.

Nice to haves

• Experience with government or national-platform integrations, API-management platforms, or regulated services.
• Knowledge of payment processing, reconciliation, and monitoring.
• Ability to communicate with Arabic-speaking stakeholders.
• Experience connecting enterprise APIs to AI applications or automation workflows.
