Senior Electrical Engineer

Job Summary

The Senior Electrical Engineer at Jacobs will lead the closeout and handover phase of electrical engineering work for major water infrastructure projects at NEOM, ensuring installations meet design and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead completion, testing, commissioning, closeout, and handover of electrical systems for water transmission infrastructure and related assets.
• Assess outstanding electrical work, identify gaps and risks, and coordinate actions to meet project closeout milestones.
• Ensure electrical installations comply with approved designs, specifications, codes, and safety procedures.
• Resolve technical queries, punch-list items, non-conformances, design changes, and contractor actions.
• Coordinate acceptance testing, system energization, functional and integrated systems testing, and performance demonstrations.
• Review commissioning records, test results, safety documentation, and final acceptance evidence.
• Coordinate electrical interfaces with other engineering disciplines and operations teams for system integration and readiness.
• Verify closeout documentation including as-built drawings, manuals, asset registers, warranties, and training records.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Electrical Power Engineering, or related discipline preferred; professional registration or chartership advantageous.
• Minimum 10 years of electrical engineering experience including construction completion, testing, commissioning, closeout, and handover of major infrastructure projects.
• Experience with water infrastructure, pumping stations, treatment facilities, utilities, or industrial assets and knowledge of high, medium, and low-voltage systems and related equipment.
• Proven experience managing punch lists, non-conformances, technical queries, acceptance testing, energization, commissioning records, and final handover.
• Strong knowledge of IEC, IEEE, NFPA, NEC, ISO, local authority, and electrical safety standards.
• Experience with electrical design and analysis software such as ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, and platforms like AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, or Autodesk Construction Cloud.
• Strong technical leadership, problem-solving, stakeholder management, multidisciplinary coordination, communication, and mentoring skills.
