Principal Wet Utilities Engineer

Job Summary

The Principal Wet Utilities Engineer leads the design and delivery of water, wastewater, irrigation, and stormwater infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia. This role involves collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and regulatory authorities throughout the project lifecycle to provide sustainable and innovative utility solutions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare reports and design documentation for water, wastewater, irrigation, and stormwater infrastructure projects.
• Oversee hydraulic modelling and calculations for pressurised and gravity systems.
• Ensure timely and quality delivery of wet utility deliverables according to project schedules.
• Verify that designs comply with relevant standards and contract requirements.
• Coordinate wet utility designs with other disciplines to deliver comprehensive solutions.
• Incorporate best practices and pursue continuous improvement and innovation in design methods.
• Conduct technical reviews and provide updates to project managers and clients.
• Engage with developers, clients, and stakeholders to obtain approvals and present proposals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional qualification such as CEng with membership in a professional institution like ICE.
• Postgraduate education and significant experience, preferably in design consultancy.
• Experience across the design lifecycle from master planning to detailed design.
• Strong skills in Civil3D and hydraulic modelling of pressurised and gravity systems.
• Ability to manage design and approval processes involving diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of local authority standards and infrastructure project approvals in Saudi Arabia.
• Experience with ProjectWise, Infraworks, Navisworks, Openutilities is preferable.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
• Willingness to travel for short-term assignments is preferred.
