Job Summary

The Head of Development leads the technical strategy and management of the development team, ensuring alignment with business goals and fostering a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Define the technical direction and strategy for the development team aligned with business objectives.
• Manage the entire team lifecycle including hiring, onboarding, setting performance goals, and conducting reviews.
• Create a positive and innovative work culture that encourages collaboration.
• Promote continuous learning by identifying improvement areas and introducing new technologies or processes.
• Guide architectural decisions using knowledge of software development methodologies and best practices.
• Implement quality assurance processes including code reviews and testing strategies to maintain high standards.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends to maintain technical excellence.
• Oversee project planning, resource allocation, and execution to meet timelines effectively.
• Facilitate communication between development and other departments, translating technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
• Build and maintain strong relationships across teams and organizational boundaries.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 15 years of professional experience.
• Over 8 years of experience designing and building scalable enterprise software.
• More than 7 years of experience managing development teams.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Fluency in English and Arabic.
