AI Engineer

Job Summary

The AI Engineer role at Base Career in Riyadh involves designing, developing, integrating, and deploying AI solutions that solve business problems. The position requires expertise in machine learning, generative AI, LLM, RAG, and production AI applications.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy AI and machine learning solutions for enterprise scenarios.
• Create generative AI applications including AI assistants, chatbots, recommendation systems, and intelligent agents.
• Develop RAG solutions utilizing enterprise data, knowledge bases, embeddings, vector search, and retrieval pipelines.
• Integrate AI services with enterprise applications using REST APIs and other methods.
• Prepare and analyze both structured and unstructured data, and develop prompt, evaluation, and retrieval strategies.
• Assess quality, relevance, performance, security, scalability, and cost efficiency of AI models, and fine-tune them as needed.
• Transform prototypes into production-ready services, build reusable components, monitor deployments, and apply responsible AI practices.

Must haves

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, data science, software engineering, or computer engineering.
• 4–6 years of hands-on experience in AI engineering, machine learning engineering, data science, or AI-focused software engineering.
• Strong skills in Python, machine learning, deep learning, generative AI, LLM, RAG, embeddings, vector databases, semantic search, and API integration.
• Knowledge of software engineering principles, data structures, algorithms, APIs, system design, Git, and modern development practices.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and multidisciplinary collaboration abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in English in a technical and professional environment.

Nice to haves

• Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, Hugging Face Transformers, or similar ML technologies.
• Experience with OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, prompt engineering, agents, evaluation, or guardrails.
• Experience with SQL, PostgreSQL, vector databases, Elasticsearch or OpenSearch, REST APIs, and FastAPI.
• Experience with Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, Docker, CI/CD, logging, monitoring, observability, or production support.
• Kubernetes experience and knowledge of Arabic NLP, Arabic language models, multilingual AI, or Arabic-language data are advantages.
• Arabic language proficiency is preferred, especially for Arabic AI applications and conversational systems.
