Power & Utilities Technical Engineer

Job Summary

The Power & Utilities Technical Engineer at Bureau Veritas Saudi Arabia combines technical knowledge with business development skills to grow the Power & Utilities sector by promoting consultancy, advisory, inspection, and asset integrity services.

Responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the Power & Utilities sector.
• Build and maintain relationships with utilities, developers, EPC contractors, industrial clients, and government bodies.
• Promote services such as Owner’s Engineer, Independent Engineer, Technical Advisory, Due Diligence, Inspection, Asset Integrity, and Project Support.
• Prepare technical and commercial proposals and engage in tender processes.
• Support account growth, client engagement, and cross-selling efforts.
• Serve as the main client contact for consultancy and advisory projects.
• Coordinate with technical teams to ensure delivery of quality solutions and project support.
• Participate in client meetings, presentations, workshops, and industry events.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related field.
• About 10+ years of experience in the Power & Utilities sector.
• Experience in Technical Sales, Business Development, Consultancy, Technical Advisory, Inspection, Asset Integrity, Utilities, EPC, or Developer roles.
• Strong skills in proposal preparation, tendering, and client relationship management.
• Knowledge of Power Generation, Transmission & Distribution, Renewable Energy, Solar PV, Wind, BESS, and Water & Utilities Infrastructure.
• Understanding of international standards including IEC, IEEE, ISO, NFPA, and ASME.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and commercial negotiation abilities.
• Preferably an existing network with utilities, developers, EPC contractors, and energy-sector stakeholders in Saudi Arabia.
• Experience with Owner’s Engineer and/or Independent Engineer assignments is preferred.
• Experience in Renewable Energy projects (Solar, Wind, BESS) and Power Generation, Transmission & Distribution projects is preferred.
• Previous Seller-Doer experience combining business development with technical delivery is preferred.
