Principal Engineer -ICT/ELV/Security

Job Summary

The Principal Engineer -ICT/ELV/Security at WSP in the Middle East leads technical design and governance for building technology systems, providing strategic guidance and ensuring delivery of integrated technology solutions on complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate engineering teams designing infrastructure and building technology solutions across various projects.
• Oversee production of design deliverables including specifications, drawings, calculations, and reports, ensuring design integrity and quality assurance.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders to understand technology requirements and translate them into technical recommendations and operational system designs.
• Manage contracts and project constraints related to scope, time, and cost.
• Contribute to technical proposals, fee estimates, resource planning, and bid documentation for business development.
• Prepare and present technical reports and client materials to communicate design solutions and project outcomes.
• Conduct peer reviews to ensure compliance with standards and quality control procedures.
• Monitor project budgets, resource allocation, and workload to meet commercial and program objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, IT, Telecom engineering or equivalent with 12+ years post-graduate experience.
• Proficient in ICT/ELV/Security systems design and project management including Data Networks, Structured Cabling, Telecom Infrastructure, CCTV, Access Control, and BMS.
• Experience with software design tools such as AutoCAD and Revit.
• Strong knowledge of data networks, IT network infrastructure, IP LAN services including Smart/IoT, and Audio Visual Systems design.
• Familiarity with authority approvals in the GCC such as Du, Etisalat, SIRA, ADMCC, MOI-KSA.
• Competent in MS Office applications.
• Recognized ICT industry and manufacturer certifications like BICSI RCDD, Cisco CCNA/CCNP/CCIE, Uptime Institute ATD/ATS, CTS, PSP are desired.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a mindset open to new ideas and continuous improvement.
