Resident Engineer – Buildings

Job Summary

The Resident Engineer – Buildings will lead site supervision for a major development in Riyadh, ensuring construction aligns with designs, contracts, quality, schedules, and safety standards. This role involves managing multidisciplinary teams, contractor performance, and stakeholder coordination through all project phases.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Consultant’s main on-site representative and lead all site supervision activities.
• Manage multidisciplinary engineering and inspection teams including civil, structural, architectural, MEP, infrastructure, and specialist systems.
• Ensure construction complies with approved drawings, specifications, contracts, and relevant codes and standards.
• Monitor contractor performance, progress, productivity, and contractual compliance.
• Review and approve contractor submissions such as shop drawings, method statements, material submittals, construction programs, and technical proposals.
• Lead progress, technical coordination meetings, and stakeholder workshops.
• Address site technical challenges, design issues, and construction constraints.
• Oversee quality assurance/control, health, safety, security, and environmental compliance throughout the project.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related field.
• Master’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Project Management preferred.
• Professional certifications such as PE, Chartered Engineer, or PMP are highly desirable.
• At least 20 years of professional experience in construction and engineering projects.
• Minimum 10 years as a Resident Engineer on major building developments.
• Experience with large-scale buildings, convention centers, hospitality developments, luxury hotels, resorts, mixed-use developments, and commercial complexes.
• Strong knowledge of international building codes, construction standards, and FIDIC contract administration.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and complex stakeholder environments.
• Proficient in project controls, construction sequencing, risk management, and commercial matters including claims and variations.
• Previous experience in Saudi Arabia or GCC region preferred.
• Fluency in English required; Arabic skills advantageous.
