Irrigation Engineer

Job Summary

The Irrigation Engineer will lead the planning, design, and execution of irrigation systems for urban projects within the Project Management Office in Riyadh. This role ensures projects meet schedule, budget, and quality standards while supporting sustainable water management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee irrigation engineering projects from start to finish, ensuring compliance with urban planning and regulations
• Create and evaluate technical specifications, design drawings, and documentation for irrigation systems using standard software
• Assess water resource needs and design irrigation solutions that maximize efficiency and sustainability
• Collaborate with urban planners, contractors, environmental experts, and government entities to achieve project goals
• Track project schedules, budgets, and resources; identify risks and apply mitigation measures
• Perform site evaluations and feasibility studies for urban irrigation infrastructure
• Prepare detailed reports, progress updates, and performance data for management and stakeholders
• Ensure adherence to local laws, environmental standards, and irrigation engineering best practices

Requirements

• At least 7 years of experience in irrigation engineering or related water management projects
• Experience working in a Project Management Office or similar governance setting
• Strong expertise in irrigation system design, hydraulics, and water distribution technologies
• Proficient in CAD, BIM, and GIS software
• Knowledgeable in project management methods and tools
• Skilled in budget and resource management for large infrastructure projects
• Understanding of urban planning and sustainable water management principles
• Familiarity with Saudi Arabian building codes, regulations, and environmental standards is preferred
• Fluent in English with strong communication skills; Arabic language skills preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software
• Professional certification in project management (PMP, PRINCE2) or irrigation engineering is preferred
