Electrical Engineer – Design Office

Job Summary

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for supporting the design of electrical building services across various project types, ensuring designs meet project requirements, codes, and company standards through collaboration and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing electrical systems from initial concept to detailed design stages.
• Prepare electrical calculations such as load schedules, voltage drop, short circuit, lighting, and cable sizing.
• Develop designs for power, lighting, emergency power, earthing, lightning protection, and low-current systems.
• Coordinate electrical designs with architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, AV/IT, and security teams.
• Create and update drawings using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Participate in BIM coordination and resolve clashes during workshops.
• Ensure compliance with project requirements, Saudi codes, international standards, and client specifications.
• Support preparation of technical reports, design narratives, BOQs, and specifications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 2-6 years of experience in electrical building services design.
• Experience in a consulting engineering environment preferred.
• Knowledge of electrical building systems including power distribution, lighting, emergency power, earthing & lightning protection, and fire alarm systems.
• Proficiency in Revit MEP, AutoCAD, ETAP or equivalent power analysis software, Dialux/Relux, and Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with IEC, NFPA, SBC, SEC requirements, and international electrical standards.
• Understanding of BIM workflows and multidisciplinary project delivery.
• Strong technical aptitude, communication skills, teamwork, problem-solving, attention to detail, multitasking ability, and commitment to quality and learning.

Nice to haves

• Experience with large-scale mixed-use or hospitality developments.
• Understanding of Saudi authority approval processes.
• Experience working within a BIM environment.
