Lead Field Engineer – Mechanical

Job Summary

The Lead Field Engineer – Mechanical will oversee mechanical engineering supervision for a major site consultancy project in Riyadh, ensuring installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of mechanical systems meet project and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical site supervision activities during construction.
• Manage a team of mechanical engineers, inspectors, and consultants.
• Ensure mechanical works comply with approved designs, specifications, and codes.
• Review and approve contractor submissions including shop drawings and method statements.
• Monitor installation of HVAC, chilled water, district cooling, ventilation, plumbing, firefighting, LPG, fuel systems, and specialist equipment.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, and oversee quality assurance and control procedures.
• Coordinate mechanical interfaces with other disciplines and stakeholders.
• Lead testing, commissioning, TAB activities, and manage handover processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
• Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or Project Management preferred.
• Professional certifications such as PE, Chartered Engineer, or PMP are highly desirable.
• At least 12 years of experience in mechanical engineering, construction, and site supervision.
• Minimum 7 years in a lead mechanical supervision role on major building projects.
• Experience with large-scale buildings including convention centers, hotels, resorts, and commercial complexes.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, chilled water, district cooling, ventilation, plumbing, firefighting, and fuel systems.
• Familiarity with international standards such as ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA, IPC, BS, and Saudi regulations.
• Experience in testing, commissioning, TAB, and integrated building systems handover.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, engineering software, and project management systems; fluency in English required, Arabic advantageous.
