Job Summary
The Lead Procurement Engineer manages the procurement of technical goods and services for operations, evaluates suppliers, negotiates purchase agreements, and ensures timely delivery of purchased items.
Responsibilities
- Develop procurement strategies to meet organizational goals such as cost reduction, quality enhancement, and supplier diversification.
- Lead and mentor procurement teams to effectively carry out procurement tasks.
- Work with project managers, engineers, and department heads to determine procurement needs and create procurement plans.
- Identify and select suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery schedules, and technical capabilities.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers to secure favorable terms and cost savings.
- Monitor supplier performance through regular assessments and audits to ensure contract and quality compliance.
- Address and resolve supplier-related issues including quality problems and delivery delays to reduce risks and keep projects on schedule.
- Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers to support long-term collaboration.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Experience with Combined Cycle powerplants
- At least 10 years of experience
