Senior Full-Stack Engineer (Laravel / PHP)

Job Summary

This role involves working as a senior full-stack engineer with a focus on backend development using Laravel/PHP and React frontend. The position includes ownership of backend architecture, API design, and data modeling, as well as contributing to modernization efforts such as AWS migration and CI/CD implementation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services and APIs using Laravel/PHP
• Design and optimize relational databases in MySQL, including migrations and query tuning
• Work on frontend tasks using React when needed
• Support modernization of the production codebase including containerization, infrastructure-as-code, and CI/CD
• Write maintainable, tested code focusing on revenue-critical and data-integrity areas
• Engage in architecture and code reviews

Must haves

• Over 5 years of professional software engineering experience
• Proven production experience with PHP and Laravel
• Strong relational database skills, preferably MySQL, including schema design and query optimization
• Proficiency in React and modern JavaScript
• Experience with REST API design and consumption
• Familiarity with Git workflows and CI/CD processes
• Good English communication skills, both written and verbal

Nice to haves

• Experience in e-commerce or marketplace platforms such as Shopify or Mirakl
• Knowledge of AWS and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform
• Experience with migrating or modernizing legacy codebases
• Exposure to AI coding tools and LLM-based development workflows
