Senior Software Engineer (Android)

Job Summary

HungerStation, part of Delivery Hero Group, is seeking a Senior Android Engineer for its Riyadh office. The role focuses on developing high-quality Android applications, collaborating with product teams to translate requirements into working software, and maintaining code excellence through testing and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Stay current with software development methodologies to deliver best-in-class solutions
• Analyze product requirements, evaluate technical feasibility, estimate efforts, and collaborate with the Product Team on solutions
• Build development components and manage programming of solution components to transform requirements into working software
• Document coding steps to ensure comprehensibility and facilitate future modifications and maintenance
• Write unit, integration, and UI/Snapshot tests
• Investigate and resolve issues and bugs through patches and other means
• Conduct code reviews and collaborate with colleagues to deliver code review reports
• Perform functional and module testing to ensure solution functionality, monitor product development, and recommend improvements

Must haves

• 5+ years of software development experience with strong foundation in design patterns and algorithms
• Deep expertise in native Android development with technology-agnostic mindset
• Hands-on experience delivering high-quality, testable code using modern mobile architectures
• In-depth understanding of Android lifecycle (Activities, Fragments) and practical experience with Agile frameworks (Scrum/Kanban)
• Proven track record of driving significant impact on complex systems
• Mastery of version control tools (Git) with execution-driven mindset and strong project prioritization abilities

Nice to haves

• Open-source contributions and technical publications
• Experience with Firebase, Google Maps API, Fastlane automation, and Checkout.com SDK
• Experience with native iOS or Flutter development
• Familiarity with AI tools, APIs, and machine learning integration within mobile applications
