UAV Engineering Interns

Job Summary

QSS AI & Robotics is seeking 3 engineering interns to join the UAV team and work on design, development, integration, simulation, and testing of next-generation UAV platforms. The internship offers three specialized tracks: mechanical design, systems integration, and simulation engineering.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical design and development of UAV platforms, including 3D modeling, assemblies, and engineering drawings
• Airframe, structural, payload, and component integration with weight, dimension, and center of gravity analysis
• UAV system architecture, integration, and testing of flight controllers, sensors, GPS/GNSS, communications, propulsion, and payloads
• Ground and flight testing with troubleshooting of electrical, communication, and integration issues
• Development and validation of UAV simulation models including flight dynamics and control systems
• Software in the Loop (SITL) and Hardware in the Loop (HIL) testing
• Prototype manufacturing, assembly, and testing
• Technical documentation, design reports, and data analysis

Requirements

• Bachelor’s student or recent graduate in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Control, or related engineering field
• Strong foundation in mechanical design, engineering principles, mathematics, dynamics, and control systems
• Familiarity with SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar CAD tools
• Basic knowledge of UAV structures, aerodynamics, materials, manufacturing, systems, avionics, sensors, and flight controls
• Understanding of electrical circuits, communication protocols, and embedded systems
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink is highly preferred
• Familiarity with PX4, ArduPilot, Pixhawk, or similar platforms is a plus
• Knowledge of Python, C, or C++ is preferred
• Familiarity with CAN, UART, I2C, SPI, or MAVLink is an advantage
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, analytical, and data analysis skills
