Senior Backend Engineer (Elixir)

Job Summary

We are currently looking for a Senior Backend Engineer (Elixir) in Saudi Arabia.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and delivery of high-impact backend projects using Elixir and Phoenix.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Frontend, SRE, and QA teams.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and platform improvements.
• Participate actively in code reviews, RFC discussions, and engineering best practices.
• Debug and resolve complex technical and business issues in production environments hosted on AWS.
• Mentor and support other engineers.
• Engage in broader engineering initiatives such as hiring processes and cross-team collaborations.

Requirements

• Significant professional experience as a Backend Engineer, with strong expertise in Elixir.
• Solid experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Proven ability to design and implement APIs with scalability, reliability, and performance in mind.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in an asynchronous, remote-first environment.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive, ownership-driven mindset.
