Principal Forward Deployed AI Engineer

Job Summary

This role involves working closely with customer teams from initial discussions through to deploying AI systems in production, focusing on delivering measurable value and scaling impact over time.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on-site with operators and executives, managing each project like an independent venture within the customer organization.
• Clarify complex, high-stakes problems into actionable technical plans, prioritizing the highest value work first.
• Design and implement scalable, production-grade AI systems powered by large language models (LLMs).
• Ensure adoption by delivering systems to users, tracking outcomes, and iterating until desired impact is achieved.
• Lead enterprise teams through AI adoption and define the technical direction for each engagement.

Requirements

• Expert proficiency in Python or TypeScript with over 8 years of experience building reliable production systems using modern DevOps practices.
• Hands-on experience with modern LLM tools such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, Guardrails, MCP, or agent frameworks.
• Strong understanding of AI system evaluation, debugging, and observability.
• At least 5 years of experience building and deploying AI/ML and LLM-powered applications or AI agents in production, including RAG pipelines and multi-step AI workflows.
• Ability to communicate complex systems clearly to both operators and executives.
• Comfortable working with ambiguity and incomplete information to solve unstructured problems.
• Experience leading complex deployments end to end at a principal level.
• Fluency in Python, TypeScript, or similar languages.
