This role involves building the product from the ground up and eventually leading the team responsible for it as the product grows.<\/p><h3>Responsibilities<\/h3><ul><li>Write production-level code as a primary contributor rather than solely managing.<\/li><li>Take ownership of major system components including core modules, transactional foundations, compliance, and integrations.<\/li><li>Make key architectural decisions critical to the platform&#8217;s long-term viability.<\/li><li>Set engineering standards through code reviews, testing practices, and appropriate use of AI tools.<\/li><li>Collaborate with product managers and domain experts to translate business needs into system features.<\/li><li>Lead hiring efforts by defining roles, conducting interviews, and making hiring decisions.<\/li><li>Mentor existing engineers to enable independent ownership of system parts.<\/li><li>Implement processes only when necessary and guide the product through its transition into a core business function.<\/li><\/ul><h3>Requirements<\/h3><ul><li>7+ years of engineering experience including leadership roles such as Engineering Manager, tech lead, or founding engineer.<\/li><li>Currently hands-on with regular coding in the present role.<\/li><li>Experience building ERP or accounting systems with understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and period close.<\/li><li>Strong full-stack development skills, comfortable with both backend and frontend.<\/li><li>Regular use of AI tools and judgment on their reliability in daily work.<\/li><li>Experience building products from scratch in small teams with ambiguous requirements and rapid cycles.<\/li><li>Motivated to both build the product now and build the team later.<\/li><li>Ability to work substantially within GMT+3 time zone.<\/li><\/ul><h3>Nice to haves<\/h3><ul><li>Experience building or operating ledgers, double-entry engines, or large-scale transaction processing systems.<\/li><li>Background in fintech, banking, payments, or financial services.<\/li><li>Experience hiring and growing an engineering team from the initial members.<\/li><li>Familiarity with ERP
